Being well hydrated is a must when cycling. Fortunately you always can carry a one or two water bottles on your bike easily. But what kind of bottle should you choose?
First, you will need to consider the bottle capacity, normally depending on how long would you ride. Of course, you can always carry more than one bottle if you need but as reference we would suggest:
For long rides go for a bottle that holds more than 750 ml.
For medium rides choose a bottle from 650 to 750 ml.
For short rides you should have enough with 650 ml.
Then, what material would be better? Aluminium or plastic? Is it plastic safe? Each material has advantages and drawbacks, so let´s go into it.
An aluminium water bottle has the advantage of being more durable than a plastic bottle but it will be heavier and more expensive than a plastic bottle. Besides it won´t be so practical for drinking on the go since you can't squeeze it.
On the other hand, the main advantage of a plastic bottle is its weight. Plastic bottles are generally light and cheap, as well as being practical to use while on the move. This is the option we find more practical, that is why our water bottle options are made in plastic.
Coming back to the safety, when choosing plastic water bottles make sure to choose 100% BPA, BPS and BPF plastic water bottles.
Once you decided capacity and material, choose your design and check extra features. If you want to know more, check our water bottles in the following link.
